The Band Large - Grade 2/3 class at Rideau Heights Public School, Kingston, Ontario. First access to these instruments in September 2016. Although the music program here at Rideau Hieghts Public School, in its newest incarnation, only started in September 2016, we pride ourselves on live performance. Giving students the opportunity to be brave and perform for our school community is awesome. I have been given the privilege of teaching music to all the students in our school. Some of the instruments we use in class are borrowed from a musical instrument lending library known in Kingston as Joes MILL, the rest are supplied by myself and other teachers at the school. A few students and their families have invested in instruments for themselves. Music clubs run three times a week after school. Students usually pick the music they want to play and sing in class and in clubs. The school community and especially the administration of our school have been incredibly supportive of this latest incarnation of our music program sometimes referring to us as "The School of Rock".
